Hi, I’m Mirela.
When I was a child, I spent hours reading.
Books opened doors to places I had never seen and introduced me to lives very different from my own. But as I grew older and began discovering other languages, I noticed something that would stay with me forever: a story feels different in the language in which it was born.
The writer’s voice feels closer. A sentence carries a different rhythm. Even the smallest word seems to hold more life and more heart.
That discovery made me fall in love with languages. It is also why I became an Italian teacher.
I wanted others to experience Italian not simply as a collection of grammar rules, but as a living language—one that carries stories, humour, memories and emotion. A language that allows you to enter a book more deeply, understand a culture from within and recognise the heartbeat hidden inside a word.
I studied Linguistic Sciences at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and Digital Communication and Publishing at the Università degli Studi di Bergamo. For more than twenty years, teaching has allowed me to bring together everything I love: language, stories, curiosity and people.
My Italian Space, however, did not begin as a business plan.
It began with my students.
Some of them encouraged me to create a place where other learners could experience what they had felt during our lessons: the heart within a language, the rhythm of a word and the warmth of a simple, friendly smile.
They believed in me before My Italian Space had a name. Their trust gave me the courage to build it.
Today, My Italian Space is not simply a language website. It is a journey created with care—a place where people can learn, speak, make mistakes, share ideas and feel genuinely welcome. And if you got to know me, you would soon realise that I would never simply be your teacher. I would be your companion on this new linguistic journey.
